Siemens PLM has released the first Maintenance Pack for Solid Edge Mold Tooling ST2 on Friday, November 6th. The content of this maintenance pack is the same as for Mold Tooling ST MP3 as the bugs were discovered at a time when ST2 has just been released and therefore could not make it into the ST2 release build. It is available on the Siemens/PLM ftp support site for all customers with a WebKey account and fixes the following problems: - Fixed a problem where the warning on injection channels are not created
- Fixed a problem where ejector pins not trimmed to the proper length
- Fixed a problem where getting an error about missing thread family ID on bolts placed by Mold Tooling
- Fixed a problem where tool placement for Parting Zone patterns was incorrect
- Fixed a problem where the bushings of the standard components are not created correctly

With the release of the new version of Solid Edge with Synchronous Technology 2, a new Solid Edge Mold Tooling and Electrode Design version will also be available. New highlights in this release are: Cooling
- A new Clearance Check tool is available for the cooling components. This tool can be accessed through the pop-up menu of the cooling circuit and verifies the minimum user-defined distance between the cooling channels and all mold base components.
Moldbase
- The standard components of the mold bases do no longer create boolean operations for their holes in the plates but real Solid Edge hole features. Threaded holes for these components are now correctly represented in the drawings and the hole table can be used to perform the drilling of the plates. Parting Surface
- In the Parting Surface command, on the Loops, Edges and Vertices steps, the user may now press the CTRL-A key combination to select all or part of the selectable items of the current step.
- Improved support for rotating/translating a plastic part with an already created parting surface. The existing parting surface updates much faster without a complete rebuild.
Part Environment
- New Create Shell Tools Surfaces command, which helps manually creating Shell Tool specific surfaces from sketches. These surfaces can later be used in the Shell Tools command. |
