With the release of the new version of Solid Edge with Synchronous Technology 2, a new Solid Edge Mold Tooling and Electrode Design version will also be available. New highlights in this release are:

Cooling

- A new Clearance Check tool is available for the cooling components. This tool can be accessed through the pop-up menu of the cooling circuit and verifies the minimum user-defined distance between the cooling channels and all mold base components.

Moldbase

- The standard components of the mold bases do no longer create boolean operations for their holes in the plates but real Solid Edge hole features. Threaded holes for these components are now correctly represented in the drawings and the hole table can be used to perform the drilling of the plates.

Parting Surface

-  In the Parting Surface command, on the Loops, Edges and Vertices steps, the user may now press the CTRL-A key combination to select all or part of the selectable items of the current step.

- Improved support for rotating/translating a plastic part with an already created parting surface. The existing parting surface updates much faster without a complete rebuild.

Part Environment

- New Create Shell Tools Surfaces command, which helps manually creating Shell Tool specific surfaces from sketches. These surfaces can later be used in the Shell Tools command.
